Privacy Policy

1. Scope and responsible organisation

This Privacy Policy applies to the Absolute Teleprompter mobile application and to support communications concerning the application. The application is developed and published by Makershift LLP, India, which is responsible for the privacy practices described in this policy.

Application stores, operating-system providers, device manufacturers, camera applications, hosting providers and other independently selected services operate under their own terms and privacy policies.

2. Data collected by the application

The current version of Absolute Teleprompter is designed for local, offline operation. Makershift LLP does not collect or receive script text, clipboard content, reading preferences or floating-window settings through the application.

The application does not intentionally collect:

• Names, email addresses, telephone numbers or postal addresses;
• Precise or approximate location;
• Contacts, photographs, videos, audio recordings or general device files;
• Financial, payment, health or biometric information;
• Advertising identifiers or cross-application tracking information;
• User accounts, passwords or authentication credentials; or
• Scripts or clipboard content from the user's device.

The current application does not contain developer-operated advertising, behavioural analytics, telemetry, cloud synchronisation or crash-reporting services.

3. Information stored locally

Absolute Teleprompter may store the following information locally in the application's private device storage:

• Script text;
• Vertical or horizontal scroll preference;
• Reading speed and text size;
• Highlighting, mirror and reading-focus preferences; and
• Floating-window size and position.

This information is used only to provide the teleprompter functionality and restore the user's preferences. It remains on the device unless the user copies or shares it, or unless it is handled by an operating-system backup selected by the user. Device backups are controlled by the applicable platform and account settings.

4. Permissions and device access

Display over other apps

The Android version requires the special “Display over other apps” permission to place the teleprompter above a camera, recording or other application. This permission is used only for the user-requested floating teleprompter.

Foreground service and notifications

A foreground service keeps the floating teleprompter available while another application is in the foreground. Android displays an ongoing notification so the active service remains visible to the user. The service stops when the user closes the teleprompter.

Clipboard

Clipboard content is accessed only when the user explicitly chooses a paste operation within the text editor. The application does not continuously monitor the clipboard.

Camera and microphone

The current Android application does not require camera or microphone access. Recording is performed by a separate camera or recording application selected by the user.

Other device information

The current application does not require access to location, contacts, photo libraries or general device storage for its core functionality.

5. Use, sharing and sale of data

Locally stored information is used to display and scroll the user's script, remember settings, and restore the overlay's size and position. It is not used by Makershift LLP for advertising, profiling, automated decision-making or cross-application tracking.

Makershift LLP does not sell, rent or share application data because the application does not transmit that data to Makershift LLP or third parties.

Text displayed on screen may be observed or captured by screen-recording, accessibility, keyboard, backup, camera or other software selected or enabled by the user. Such processing is controlled by the user, the operating system or the relevant third party and is not a disclosure performed by Absolute Teleprompter.

6. Support communications

If a user voluntarily contacts Makershift LLP by email, telephone, website form or another support channel, Makershift LLP may receive the information submitted by that user, such as a name, contact details, message, screenshot or diagnostic information.

This information is used only to respond to the enquiry, investigate an issue, provide support, maintain appropriate business records, protect the service and comply with legal obligations. Support communications may be processed by communication or hosting providers used by Makershift LLP. Users should not submit passwords, payment information, confidential scripts or unnecessary sensitive information.

7. Website hosting information

When a person visits absoluteteleprompter.com, the website's infrastructure or security provider may automatically process standard technical logs such as an IP address, browser or device type, requested page, timestamp and security events. Such logs may be used for delivery, reliability, fraud prevention and security. This website processing is separate from the mobile application and does not change the application's Google Play Data safety position.

Any future use of website analytics, advertising cookies or additional tracking will be disclosed and, where required, presented with an appropriate consent mechanism.

8. Retention and deletion

Local application data remains on the device until the user edits or removes the script, clears the application's storage, or uninstalls the application. Absolute Teleprompter currently has no user accounts and does not upload application data to Makershift LLP; therefore, there is no remote application account or cloud script record for Makershift LLP to delete.

Support communications and website security records are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for support, security, business records, dispute resolution and legal compliance. A user may request deletion of eligible support information by emailing contact@makershift.in. Information may be retained where required by law or necessary for security, fraud prevention or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

9. User choices and control

• Delete or replace script text within the application.
• Clear the application's local storage through Android settings.
• Uninstall the application to remove locally stored data, subject to independent device backups.
• Revoke overlay or notification access through Android settings.
• Contact Makershift LLP about privacy questions or eligible support-data requests.

10. Security

The application relies on the operating system's application sandbox and device-access controls to protect locally stored information. Users should secure their devices, restrict access to confidential scripts and review the permissions of keyboards, accessibility services, backup services, screen recorders and other applications. No technical or organisational measure can guarantee absolute security.

11. Children

Absolute Teleprompter is a general-purpose productivity tool and is not directed specifically to children. The application does not knowingly collect personal data from children. A parent or legal guardian should supervise use by anyone who cannot legally accept the applicable terms.

12. International processing

The application does not transmit scripts or preferences to Makershift LLP and therefore does not perform international transfers of that application data. Information voluntarily submitted through a support or website channel may be processed in India or in locations used by the relevant communication, security or hosting provider, subject to applicable safeguards and law.

13. Application-store privacy disclosure

For the current application build, the intended Google Play Data safety and Apple App Privacy position is: no data collected by the application, no data shared by the application and no tracking. This statement must be reviewed whenever application code, dependencies, software development kits, advertising, analytics, crash reporting, cloud synchronisation, accounts or support features change.

14. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when application features, permissions, data practices, dependencies, distribution methods or legal requirements change. The “Last updated” date identifies the current version. Material changes will be made available through the application, official website, store listing or another reasonable channel.
